Isle of Wight Literary Festival

News

The Isle of Wight Literary Festival is fast approaching, running from 5 to 8 October. Crime fiction is represented by Elly Griffiths, and I look forward to her Sunday afternoon session with Wendy Joseph KC (a retired Old Bailey judge) and Jackie Malton, a detective who was the inspiration for Jayne Tennison. There’s quite a lot of non-fiction authors, including Chris Mullin launching his latest diaries “Didn’t You used To Be Chris Mullin?” chef Robert Thompson and from BBC radio Justin Webb and Rory Cellan-Jones. The weekend following, I’m off to the one-day Shoreham Wordfest, hosted by Elly Griffiths and William Shaw, and featuring Richard Osman, whose sales figures every crime writer (or even every writer) envies.
